Press Release

CHUCK (C.J.) RAWLINGS LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE

July 6, 2008 Las Vegas, NV: STAR ENTERTAINMENT WORLDWIDE has launched a new website for performer CHUCK (C.J.) RAWLINGS.  Chuck performs daily at Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Casino, center Strip Las Vegas.  He joined the award winning Big Elvis Show 2 years ago.  At that time, he signed with Star Entertainment Worldwide for Management and Public Relations.  Since then, Chuck has released 2 CDs, A Tribute to Conway Twitty and Yesterday's Songs, which is a tribute to other musical legends, both on the Indie label, Gold Star Las Vegas.

Chuck Rawlings is a career singer and musician who has entertained audiences internationally for over 2 decades.  His style, quick wit and personality have won over audiences in casinos and for corporate events coast to coast.  Chuck's vocal repertoire of well over 200 songs spans the musical genres of Oldies, Standards, Rock n' Roll, Pop, Gospel, Country, and R & B.  The winner of numerous awards for his vocal talents, Chuck won the Las Vegas Talent Showcase Singsations 2005, and was recognized as Best New Impersonator Talent 2006 for his tribute to Conway Twitty.

Chuck Rawlings’ talent reflects the influences of his youth and those musical legends who became his heroes.  As a young man, raised by a singer mother, he listened to Rock n’ Roll icons Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Little Richard; R & B stylists Jackie Wilson, Ray Charles and Brook Benton; and Country favorites Hank Williams, Marty Robbins, Ray Price and Jimmy Dean.

Popular artists may have influenced Chuck’s musical style, but it was his mother, Alyce who had a lasting impact on his future.  She and his aunt, popular singers in the Tacoma, Washington area, were often heard on local radio programs.  Inspired by his mother’s musical talents, Chuck began to experiment with singing at the age of 5, listening to and imitating the likes of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Dean Martin. Chuck recalled being mesmerized upon seeing Elvis Presley for the first time on the Ed Sullivan Show, with his swiveling hips, unique voice and stage presence.

Chuck’s ear for music was apparent when he began to play musical instruments, ultimately taking 6 years of violin lessons beginning at the age of 8, and later guitar lessons.  As a teen, Chuck shared lead vocals and played rhythm guitar for bands of the 1960’s.  He later won a talent contest and appeared on the popular televised Wild Bill Elliot Show. He continued to sing and play guitar, performing as a solo act until the late 1980’s when he and a fellow musician formed “Almost Too Late,” a band that played regularly in the state of Washington for over 12 years.

Since moving back to Nevada, Chuck has been a solo performer, appearing locally at the Nevada Landing in Jean, the Sportsman’s Club in Overton, as well as Boulder Station Casino and the Imperial Palace Casino, both in Las Vegas.  For the past 2 years, Chuck has been a featured vocalist and musician in the award winning Big Elvis Show, center Strip in Las Vegas. He continues to perform around the country for fairs, festivals, trade shows and private parties.
